Rare décor designed by Percier et Fontaine, architects of Napoleon, and most probably the only wallpaper décor they created.

In a neo-classical style, the six Allegory figures are individually enframed by pilasters and draperies, in an array of sepia and green tones- achieving an exquisite palette.
No other full version of these six Allegories is known to exist

An identical wallpaper version of two Allegories, Architecture and Music, is in the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.

This décor was once installed at “Mill Road Farm” in Lake Forest, Chicago, home of advertising magnate Albert Lasker- built by David Adler (1925-28) and decorated by Frances Elkins.
It is possible that this set was originally acquired by Elkins from the Carlhian firm in Paris- known for their specialty in vintage wallpaper decors.
